Immeuble à appartements Art déco, avenue Jupiter 171

Art Deco apartment building erected in 1937 by the architect Maurice Van Nieuwenhuyse. The nine-storey façade, in brick enhanced with artificial stone and white stone, is marked by a seven-storey oriel with rounded corners and topped by a coping of glazed tiles. The central entrance, with its double wrought-iron door, is set in a bluestone surround with broad jambs. Inside, the marble-clad hall retains an original Schindler lift in an open shaft, around which winds a granito staircase. The building is recorded in the inventory.
