Immeuble Art déco Bekeman, Koninklijkelaan 10 — Anvers

Art Deco apartment building in Berchem, designed in 1928 by architect Alphonse Geenen, whose inscription appears beside the front door; work began on 19 March 1928. The client was J. Bekeman, who ran the café-restaurant "Hulstkamp" on the De Keyserlei. The white stone façade on a bluestone plinth emphasises the first floor, punctuated by three three-sided bay windows decorated with floral medallions. The plans provided for three dwellings served by a shared entrance hall and staircase.
