Art Deco building erected in 1933-1934 to a 1933 design by Alfons Van Braekel as the residence of the widow J. Lestienne, on a plot bought from the City of Antwerp in May 1933; it is one of the early buildings in the Exhibition district. It combines two dwellings with separate entrances: the owner's house on the ground and first floors, and an apartment on the second floor. The red-brick facade, above a ground floor clad in white stone treated as a plinth, follows a markedly asymmetrical composition with stacked oriels in the right-hand bay, diagonally set brick mullions and white stone window surrounds; two stones carved with a floral motif, a fluted cornice and steel doors with ironwork repeating that motif complete a facade whose details are all preserved.
