The Thermae Palace, formerly the "Palais des Thermes", combines a thermal institute and a grand hotel built on and behind Ostend's Royal Galleries; the project was decided in 1929. It was designed by the Parisian architects' collective Flegenheimer, Bard and Garella, with the Ostend architect André-Louis Daniëls, and opened in 1933. The exterior is neoclassical, in keeping with the Royal Galleries, while the interior is in the Art Deco style. The building has been a protected monument since 2002.
