This apartment building with an integrated shop, in a so-called "romanticising" Art Deco, is the work of the architects Charles Pil and Henri Carbon. According to the land registry it was built in 1924-1925 for the De Waele couple, after the demolition of several buildings. A six-storey corner building with a mezzanine, it is dominated by a continuous curved corner oriel ending in a loggia, and its rendered façade is enlivened by surfaces that swing in and out. The interior largely preserves its original layout, with one apartment per floor, a staircase with a mosaic floor and an Otis lift installed in 1925. The building has been protected as a monument since 2005.
