Municipal swimming pool built from 1931 to 1933 to the design of the engineer Daniël Joseph Algoet, with the collaboration of the engineer Alfred Roelandts and the city architect Emiel Van Averbeke, whose influence on its form is stressed by the inventory. The 33 m pool, the bath cubicles and a gymnasium were formally opened on 9 July 1933. It is the oldest surviving public swimming pool in Antwerp, an interwar building blending modernism and Art Deco that has remained almost intact. Listed as a monument in 1998, it was converted between 2006 and 2009 into a steam-bath complex, with the pool retained.
