This school complex, built between the Quai Timmermans and the Rue de Berloz, Rue des Beaux-Arts and Rue du Vieux Château, replaced the École du Perron, which was expropriated when the Kinkempois–Fexhe-le-Haut-Clocher railway line was created. Inaugurated in 1926, it stands on the site of the outbuildings and park of the Château de Sclessin, bought in 1913 by the municipality of Ougrée. Its modernist-style buildings are arranged around several playgrounds. Their brick masonry is enhanced with decorative cement motifs that the inventory describes as characteristic of the Art Deco style. It is recorded in the Walloon heritage inventory.
