Town house in a sober Art Deco style, designed in 1928 by Paul Smekens and Carlos Van der Voodt, probably partners from early 1927 to mid-1931, for Charlotte Schumacher-Lenaers and her eldest son Robert Troop; it is among their first joint designs, together with the Clinckers house in the same street. Of two bays and three storeys under a slate pseudo-mansard, it has a sober cornice façade with a flat facing of red brick without mouldings or relief, with render imitating stone on the ground floor and bow window, on a blue-stone plinth. The axis is marked by a three-sided bow window rising over the upper floors, with rectangular triple windows and an Art Deco relief on the breast, in a profiled surround. The wrought-iron front door with a geometric pattern survives; the garage door of the same type has gone and the upper-floor joinery has been renewed. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
