Maison de rapport Art déco, rue Duysburgh 20

Art Deco house of flats with an asymmetrical composition, signed and dated 1933 on the plinth by the architect C. Desmaré. The yellow-brick façade, enhanced with bluestone, makes play of emphasised horizontal joints and of courses laid in parallel bands, flat or on end, on the ground floor, the lintels and the entablature. The door is set in a stepped surround of stone and brick forming an inverted staircase; on the upper floors the French windows of the main bay, in a stepped surround, open onto a balcony. The glazed door and the wrought-iron railing with an Art Deco design survive. The building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
