Ensemble of a multi-family house and a town house in Art Deco style on the corner of Koninklijkelaan and Hilda Ramstraat, a joint project of the merchant and industrialist Jozef De Vos and the architect Louis Van Rijmenant, who signed the design in September 1923 (inscription on the façade); the multi-family house was built for De Vos, the town house (Hilda Ramstraat 57) for the architect himself. The multi-family house anchors the corner with a taller, tower-like rotunda; the strictly symmetrical three-bay town house is articulated by stepped pilasters whose stylised tendril ornament is typical of nascent Art Deco. Originally in imitation natural stone on a bluestone base, the façades are now rendered and painted; the ensemble is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
