This Art Deco apartment building was designed in 1927 by the architect Gustave Fierens for Samuel Hartveld, a dealer in old art. The programme comprised two shops, an art gallery, five apartments and a caretaker's dwelling. The structure is of reinforced concrete; the five-bay façade, with a raised central section flanked by two three-sided oriels, has white natural-stone cladding with Art Deco ornamentation above a ground floor and mezzanine faced in green marble. The wrought-iron double-leaf portal bears the inscription "OTTO VENIUS". The stairwell preserves a 1927 lift by the Antwerp firm Daelemans, with a mahogany cabin. The building's facades and roofs have been protected as a monument since 1973.
