Art Deco office building of the insurer Guillaume Hamspohn, in its present form to a 1926 design probably attributable to architect Joseph Ditvoorts, who signed only the last of the three permit applications. Hamspohn's widow then had the former neoclassical coach house of a vanished hôtel on Frankrijklei, converted into offices as early as 1913, remodelled with an extra storey, a new entrance hall, staircase and façade. The rendered and painted cornice façade, of six bays and three storeys on a bluestone base, is strongly articulated by angled pilaster strips; three-sided oriels on the first floor accentuate the side bays, and floral Art Deco relief decoration adorns the parapets and the central pier. The wooden joinery and the wrought-iron entrance door and grilles by the Pierre Meeuws workshop are preserved; the building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
