Art Deco block of flats designed in 1927 by architect Ferdinand De Ruddere and built in 1928 by contractor Joannes Frans Van Damme, both from Dendermonde, for Melanie Goossens-de Badts, the widow of a shipbroker. It combines two volumes set at right angles, the main building on Hoornstraat and an annex on Lange Noordstraat, raised on the retained structure of a 19th-century complex of offices and warehouses, heightened by one storey and given new façades; only the left half of the annex survives, the right half having been demolished in 2004. The cornice façade of the main building, six bays wide and four storeys high, rendered in imitation stone on a bluestone base, is articulated by a colossal order of fluted pilaster strips, its two central bays crowned by a pseudo-pediment with volutes; the ground floor housed an office suite, and each upper floor two flats. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
