The villa known as "Madeleine" dates from 1935 and was designed by Joseph De Coninck of Roeselare. An urban villa of two storeys under a mansard roof, flanked by a three-sided tower, it is fronted by a small garden enclosed by a tall wrought-iron fence with geometric Art Deco motifs and the initials "S V". The yellow brick façade on a high bluestone plinth shows its Art Deco influence most clearly in the right-hand bay, with chamfered-corner windows and coloured glass panels with plant motifs.
