Résidence Beau Séjour — Anvers

Art Deco apartment building erected for K. Simkens and J. Melis to a 1935 design by Benoit J. Dupont, next to the Résidence Charles-Michel the architect built a year later on his own account. On a reinforced-concrete frame, it has a basement and six storeys under a flat roof; the projecting upper section with rounded corners, in red brick and white stone on a bluestone plinth, is lined by drip mouldings and crowned by a stepped attic. The hall retains panelling, contrasting marble and varnished woodwork. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
