A block of twelve high-standing flats with a caretaker's dwelling, designed in 1936 by the architects Karel Van Riel and Maurice Janssens for J. and Ch. De Keyser and completed the same year. On a reinforced-concrete frame, the façade combines red brick, white stone and blue stone in a symmetrical composition: the three central bays, projecting from the first to the fourth floor, form a stepped profile, while the wide windows and the set-back attic under a deeply overhanging cornice stress the horizontal. The small chevron motif along the surrounds of the central projection is regarded as the two architects' signature. The tropical-hardwood and steel window frames and the Art Deco ironwork of the basement level are preserved.
