A First World War memorial in Ekeren, inaugurated on 10 August 1930 to a design by the Borgerhout sculptor Alfons Lambert Baggen. It stands at the beginning of the Veltwijcklaan in the centre of Ekeren and consists of a bronze group (Christ and a dying soldier) on a bluestone plinth, between two piers bearing eight wrought-iron lanterns. The inventory describes its design as sober but balanced Art Deco. It is protected as a monument.
