Town house "Ons Genoegen" (name inscribed on the façade), built for Mathijsen to a 1933 design by Cuypers in the Art Deco style. Detached, of two bays and two storeys under a tiled half-hipped saddle roof, it has a façade with decorative trapezoidal relieving arches in cast limestone. On the left is a narrow window bay with a transom and a stair-hall window; on the right a three-sided bay window, topped by a balcony with a French window and surviving decorative ironwork beneath the roof overhang; the breastworks are of cast limestone on the upper floor and of rusticated bluestone on the ground floor. The entrance, in the left side elevation, has a double door with decoratively grilled windows beneath a balcony on pillars; the door was moved there during a 1953 alteration to plans by J. Peeters, and a garage lies at the rear on the right. The woodwork of the windows and doors and the glass of the transoms are intact or well restored; the house at Veltwijcklaan 67 was built to an identical design. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
