Modest pair of linked apartment houses in a sober Art Deco style, built under the 1931 building application for E. Elen and Edward Beyls; the inventory names no architect. Each of two unequal bays, the terraced houses have two storeys under a tiled saddle roof, with cornice façades in red brick in cross bond on a bluestone plinth, enlivened by contrasting courses of wine-red brick on edge in line with the sills and in the breastworks. Mirror-symmetrical, the composition stresses the wide central bays, marked by a three-sided bay window with a canopy and an arched dormer, replaced by a different dormer on the left-hand house. The wooden joinery of the doors and windows, with small glazing bars, largely survives. The houses are recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
