Two modest Art Deco town houses built as a pair in 1932 for the timber merchant J. Van de Sande, after a file submitted by the Brasschaat architect Pierre Backer Overbeek, house architect of the Antverpia company at Sint-Mariaburg. Built as mirror images between two large cottage-style villas of 1924, they have two bays and two storeys under a tiled roof with a broad central dormer, with a solid bay window on the ground floor, continued as a balcony at no. 309, and canopied porches worked in Art Deco style. Part of the decoration has been lost with the replacement of the doors and the removal of ornament from the bay windows. The pair is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
