Pair of mirror-image terraced houses in Art Deco style, designed in 1926 by the architects Jos Bascourt and his son Gaston as “two cheap houses” for John Stordiau and August Visschers, husbands of twin sisters. The red-brick two-bay, three-storey façades with cornice stand out from the ordinary houses in the street through their careful rendered details: a wide cornice and rendered bow windows on stepped consoles on the first floor. The round-arched doorways retain their original joinery, with small hall windows and boot scrapers with wrought ironwork. The pair is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
