Art Deco town house in Berchem, designed in 1927 by the architect René Cnoops, as stated on the façade, for Daniel Thibaut, who ran a printing works and stationer's on the Meir. It is one of the early works of Cnoops, who began his career in 1922 as a partner of the architect Ernest Pelgrims. The three-bay, three-storey façade under a slate pseudo-mansard is faced entirely in white natural stone on a bluestone plinth; axially composed, it is dominated by a wide three-light bow window on the bel-étage, resting on a stepped corbel and topped by a wrought-iron balustrade with a lozenge pattern. The original joinery survives in full, including the glazed garage and entrance doors with lozenge grilles, and the plans also detail a fitting-out of the entrance and stair hall in the Art Deco style. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
