Art Deco townhouse built for Henri Van Dijck to a design by the architect Guillaume Peeters, signed on the façade, dating from late 1928; the works were carried out in 1929. It belongs to the mature work of the architect, who appears to have been active in Antwerp from around 1905. The three-bay terraced house has three storeys under a mansard roof; the red-brick cornice façade makes ample use of white stone for the bands, lintels, sills, the bow window and the crowning, with bluestone for the plinth. The axial composition is marked by the broad bow window of the bel-étage, with carved corbels and an undulating top, and finished by a wooden cornice on paired brackets and three dormers. The varnished wooden joinery of the door, with a wrought-iron fanlight, and of the windows survives, as does the stained glass with a geometric Art Deco pattern on the ground floor; the house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory and lies within the protected townscape of the Kardinaal Mercierlei and its surroundings (1994).
