This Art Deco apartment house was built, according to the 1924 building application, for Ernest De Leeuw, an engineer employed by the City of Antwerp, who may have drawn the design himself. It originally consisted of his own residence and a flat to let. A terraced house of two unequal bays and three storeys under a flat roof, it has a red brick facade with white natural stone and a bluestone plinth; a bow window on consoles, topped by a wrought-iron balcony, marks the wide side bay. Typical Art Deco reliefs decorate the keystone of the portal and the parapets, and the building lies within the protected urban area of the Kardinaal Mercierlei, designated in 1994.
