Art Deco townhouse, designed in 1932 by the Borgerhout building technician Fr. Cannoot for Ch. Van Deun; Cannoot signed it on the bay window. It is part of the row of nos. 1 to 25 of the Venneborglaan, in Deurne, a homogeneous group dominated by the cottage style. The house of two bays and three storeys under a flat roof, with the top floor treated as a slate mansard, has a cornice façade in yellow-brown brick on a low stone plinth, with white stone for the piers of the bay window, the crowning of the dormer and the vertical bands of the door bay. The wide bay forms a projection with a three-sided bay window over two storeys, topped by a wrought-iron railing with geometric lines echoed in the front-garden gate, also designed by Cannoot, and bearing at its centre a geometric motif that the inventory calls pure Art Deco. The varnished oak door, with ironwork and stained glass, and the windows with polychrome Art Deco stained glass in the fanlights survive; the house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
