Art Deco house of 1932, worked out down to the details, built for Frans Van de Sande, who already lived in the neighbourhood; the building file names neither a designer nor a contractor. It stands in the southern half of the Venneborglaan, in Deurne, laid out and built up in the interwar years. The single-family house over a basement has three bays and three storeys under a flat roof, the top one treated as a mansard partly clad in slate; the brown-brick façade, with bluestone for the decorative elements, plays according to the inventory with volumes of bay windows, canopies, balcony and decoration inspired by the Amsterdam School. Brick bands, continuous bluestone sills and projecting canopies draw horizontal lines; the wide central bay forms a solid rectangular bay window, and a semicircular balcony with an Art Deco tubular railing above the door serves as a canopy for the recessed porch. The red-painted wooden joinery and its Art Deco stained glass survive, as does the Art Deco stone surround of the top storey; the house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
