Art Deco town house built on the basis of a 1931 permit file submitted by Joseph Mortiers, and signed by the architect Fr. De Proost, by whom no other work has yet been recorded. Of two bays and two storeys under a slate mansard, it belongs according to the inventory to a very simple form of Art Deco: a cornice façade of red brick on a blue-stone plinth, with horizontal rendered sections between the storeys. The wide window bay is marked by a three-sided bay window faced with natural stone and a tall gabled attic window; the door, under a fanlight, sits in a stepped surround. The polychrome stained-glass transoms and the wooden door with fan-shaped grille are Art Deco elements, and the original front-garden enclosure survives, except for the gate of the path. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
