This Art Deco town house in Merksem was built in 1933, the date carved at the top of the gable, for the master miller Karel Alfons Foblets-Carrez; as the original plan has not survived, its designer is unknown. Within a neo-traditional row, it stands out with a gabled façade in red brick and white natural stone on a bluestone base. A three-sided oriel on fluted consoles carries a balcony with a wrought-iron railing in a fan pattern, a motif repeated in the white stone parapet. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
