Art Deco town house, part of an ensemble of six single-family houses built at the same time at nos. 1 to 11 Groenstraat; the row, which combines influences of Art Deco and modernism, was designed in 1933 by the architect Raymond Vankeerberghen for Messrs Goemans and Stroobants (building permit of 7 February 1933). Like its neighbours it has three storeys and two bays under a red-tiled gabled roof. The façade of no. 3, signed by the architect at the level of the bluestone plinth, is in dark brown flat brick with recessed 'Dudok' joints and mouldings, the storeys being divided by an artificial-stone lintel. The bel-étage is emphasised by a wide three-sided bay window on an artificial-stone base, topped by a horizontal strip of glazing across the full width of the façade, and the top floor opens with a triple window with artificial-stone mullions; the joinery and the cornices of the façade and bay window have been renewed. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
