This house is part of a group of six single-family dwellings (Groenstraat 1 to 11), designed in 1933 by the architect Raymond Vankeerberghen for Messrs Goemans and Stroobants, combining Art Deco and modernist influences. Its façade of narrow red-brown brick with recessed Dudok joints rests on a plinth of black glazed tiles. The bel-étage is almost entirely taken up by an expressive full-width oriel, continued as a balcony in front of the triple window of the upper floor; on the bel-étage, the recessed central door is flanked by two three-sided window bays linked by a balustrade of straight uprights in artificial stone, repeated on the second-floor balcony. The joinery has been renewed.
