Partly destroyed during the First World War, the building was the subject of a first reconstruction project in 1923, whose street section was demolished when the shopping streets were realigned. A second project was carried out in 1926 by the contractor Victor Girard under the direction of the architect Jean Lacoste, producing the present building. This narrow single-bay facade is characteristic of the Art Deco style, drawing on the classical repertoire to create a modern art. Designed like an ancient temple, it combines fluted pilasters with geometric capitals, an entablature with baskets of fruit and flowers, and a geometric pediment.
