Art Deco commercial and residential building designed in 1935 by the architect E. De Boelpaepe for the firm Gérard Koninckx Frères, wholesalers of bananas and oranges: an unloading bay and storerooms on the lower levels and in the basement, with four floors of apartments above. The white-stone and imitation-stone façade bears sculpted decoration recalling its commercial purpose, with concave fluted piers topped by gilded bunches of bananas and oranges, and a frieze inscribed “GERARD • KONINCKX • FRERES”. The upper floors end in an attic storey and successive setbacks; the inventory singles out the ironwork of the large folding door.
