Art Deco commercial and apartment building on the corner of Rue de Mérode, built in 1927 to plans by the architect Charles Coomans. On the upper floors, the brick elevation enhanced with white imitation stone comprises a narrow blind bay on Rue de Mérode and five unequal bays on Avenue du Roi, the central one fronted by a trapezoidal oriel; the corner and window jambs are quoined. The ground floor, faced with light marble, houses three shops whose shopfronts survive, each made up of two angled display windows flanking a central entrance. A frieze of stained glass with a stylised floral motif underlines the transom light. The building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
