Art Deco block of flats with a commercial ground floor, built in 1935 by the architect Antoine Van Gompel on the corner of Rue Stuyvenbergh and Avenue Houba de Strooper. The four-storey flat-roofed building, in yellow brick enhanced with concrete elements and bluestone, has a symmetrical seven-bay elevation in which the end bays and the central corner bay form projections on a curved plan. On the upper floors the corner bay is flanked by monumental columns with capitals made of stacked circular slabs, and the ground floor is likewise punctuated by columns. Originally a shop occupied the corner, with two flats per floor and an oval drawing room on the corner. The building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
