Art Deco apartment building designed in 1936 by the architect Paul Van de Berg, who signed it on the base. The four-storey, flat-roofed elevation combines a ground floor of orange ceramic tiles with brown-brick upper floors with emphasised horizontal joints, set off with bluestone. The door, with curved jambs, is sheltered by a transom forming a curved canopy. On the upper floors, a two-storey rendered oriel forms a balcony on the left and carries a terrace with a parapet; on the top floor, twin French windows open beneath an entablature of bricks laid on edge. The original door, with a geometric design, survives; the building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
