Art Deco corner apartment building with a pastry shop on the ground floor, designed in 1933 by the architect Van Vaerenberg, on the corner of Boulevard de Smet de Naeyer (no. 605). Its four storeys, in yellow brick set off with rendered elements and bluestone, have two bays on the avenue and four on the boulevard, joined at the corner by a polygonal oriel. Further oriels, trapezoidal and rectangular, and a projecting section beneath a cornice with geometric decoration enliven the façades. On the corner, the pastry shop front has a black Marbrite surround and shop windows with thick transoms. The dentilled cornice and the wrought-iron private door are original; the building is recorded in the inventory of architectural heritage.
