Mansion in a sober Art Deco style built for Albert Salti (1885-1970) to a 1928 design by the architect Joseph de Lange, which the inventory describes as a representative example of his moderate interwar Art Deco; the family moved in in May 1930. Together with the John Pieters house, designed in 1926 by Jos. Somers, this semi-detached town villa forms a pair of linked villas; the plans were drawn up in three phases, the last, of 1929, concerning only the façades, probably to match the design to the neighbouring house, and the adjoining garage was added in 1939 by a later owner. Built in brick, with two storeys and a slate pseudo-mansard, the house has a natural-stone facing only on its two-bay street façade, where broad pilaster strips carry three-sided bay windows and triple windows, crowned by dormers with stylised volutes. The wooden joinery of the door and windows, with small glazing bars, survives, as does the wrought-iron front-garden railing with a discreet Art Deco motif. The house is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
