Restrained Art Deco mansion built for John Pieters to a 1926 design by the architect Joseph Somers (inscription), the first of the series of Art Deco urban villas that shape the extended Jan Van Rijswijcklaan. Semi-detached, in brick, with two storeys and a slate pseudo-mansard, it has a natural-stone street façade articulated by pilasters and triple windows, with the emphasis on the side projection marked by superimposed three-sided oriels. The Art Deco character is expressed with restraint in the oriel brackets, the cornice and the dormers with volutes, and more clearly in the wrought-iron parapets and railing with a geometric pattern; the door fanlight bears the client's initials JP. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
