Generalate of the congregation of the Brothers of Our Lady of Lourdes, entered in the land registry in 1936 and designed in the Art Deco style, on the site of the Glorieux institute in Oostakker; it was probably designed by the architect Maurice De Wilde, author of the neighbouring Sint-Jan-Berchmans teacher-training school, built at the same time. An asymmetrical double-fronted building of six bays and three storeys under flat roofs, flanked on the right by a stepped annex, it has a red-brick façade crowned with projecting concrete ledges. Two-sided projecting window bays, in a chevron pattern, run from the second to the third storey; the inventory describes them as influenced by the Amsterdam School. The taller entrance bay is crowned by a geometrically shaped crucifix, and the entrance, set in a recess, keeps its wooden double door with a Greek cross under a concrete canopy, beside a pilaster bearing a statue of Our Lady at prayer. The rear wing, added in 1964 according to the land registry, is plainly treated, and all the windows but one have been given aluminium frames. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
