The former Queen Astrid dispensary was erected in 1938 by the Œuvre nationale belge de défense contre la tuberculose (Belgian national association for the fight against tuberculosis), with the support of Messrs Motte, as the commemorative plaque on the facade records. Designed, according to the inventory, in the modernist spirit tinged with Art Deco typical of the Belgian interwar period, it is a cubic flat-roofed volume whose front section is enlivened by the two vertically emphasised end bays, each topped by an acroterion. The right-hand bay incorporates the sign with the arms of Mouscron and a ceramic panel decorated with a cross of Lorraine. In the centre of the facade, the two entrance doors retain their original joinery, ceramic surrounds and concrete canopy. It is recorded in the Walloon heritage inventory.
