A complex decided on in 1936 under the mayoralty of Joseph Vandevelde, attributed to the municipal architect Jules Geldhof, combining a swimming pool, gymnastics school, fire station, baths and caretaker's lodge. Work began in 1938, was interrupted by the war, then resumed in 1946, with the pool inaugurated in 1948. The modernist building in concrete, limestone and yellow brick, with flat roofs and horizontal window openings, retains echoes of Art Deco, notably in the columns at the entrance.
