Villa Art déco, Burgemeester Vandenbogaerdelaan 55 — Izegem

A detached villa of 1937 designed by the Kortrijk architect Charles Debels and linked by the inventory to the Art Deco style, as shown by its blind porthole windows and rounded walls. Roughly L-shaped, with a rounded entrance set in the angle, it has two and three storeys under a varied arrangement of roofs; its brick facades stand on a bluestone plinth and have rectangular windows, partly embellished with leaded glass. A striking porch under a heavy canopy on brackets shelters the door with its stylised grille. The low brick wall separating it from the street dates from 1938, also to Debels's design.
