A former fire station, occupied by the Red Cross since 1984, together with an adjoining house: an imposing corner building in geometric Art Deco with a striking drying tower, raised in 1929-1930 to designs by Carlos Beyaert of Izegem. A functional red-brick structure on a rubble-stone plinth, it has two storeys under a flat roof. Stepped window projections topped by triangular pseudo-pediments give the façades their rhythm, and the tower, its corners emphasised by profiled pilasters, is capped by a contrasting rendered top.
