Villa Marie-José — Izegem

The architect Charles Laloo's own house, known as "Villa Marie-José", built in 1928 in a hedged garden from which a flight of steps leads to the entrance. This two-storey Art Deco villa on a basement has geometric facades characterised by a fine blue granito render. The original plan provided for a complex mansard roof, but the executed design took a more progressive form, with a flat roof, the render and the detailing. The central door bay is marked by a wrought-iron balcony and a surround in white, green and orange granito.
