Villa Ameye — Izegem

Detached Art Deco villa of 1935, designed by J. Degezelle (Izegem) for the shoe manufacturer P. Ameye. Built in yellow brick, three bays wide and two to three storeys high under a flat roof, it has a vertically composed facade with staggered planes and stepped volumes, enlivened by continuous mullions of black glazed tiles in the window bay, which projects slightly on the right. The central door is recessed, with a bevelled left side to admit light, beneath a balcony with a tubular railing; a full-width veranda with two bow windows extends across the rear.
