Residential and commercial building by the architect Marcel Leborgne, erected in 1937-1938 in Marcinelle at the entrance to avenue Meurée. It is one of Leborgne's emblematic works, whose output is associated with modernism and the ocean-liner aesthetic. The architect also designed other buildings in Charleroi that can still be seen today, such as the De Heug building (quai Rimbaud) and the Moreau building (boulevard Dewandre). The Résidence Albert has been a listed monument since 13 September 2010.
