Apartment building in the sober Art Deco style at the corner of Meirbrug and Wiegstraat, designed in 1935 by the architect Jos Baeyens for the company "Meir Building"; the building permit was granted on 24 April 1935 and construction was completed in early 1936. Twenty-eight metres high with nine storeys, the corner building combines a white natural-stone facing for the rounded, strongly projecting upper section with blue-stone cladding for the ground floor and mezzanine, which house shops. A façade stone bears the inscription "MEIR" BUILDING. It is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
