Imposing Art Deco commercial, office and residential building on the corner of Huidevettersstraat and Groendalstraat, designed in 1928 and modified in 1929 by engineer-architect Walter Van Kuyck for the firm Henri Pirson, dealers in machinery, tools and precision instruments; the contractor Victor Merckx-Verellen carried out the work in 1929. On a reinforced-concrete frame, the white natural stone façade, of eight bays and seven storeys, focuses on the taller canted corner bay, marked by a three-sided oriel with scrollwork friezes on its parapets and given a tower-like crown by an attic that carried the illuminated sign "PIRSON OUTILS". The shop occupied three levels, the upper floors rental office suites and the client's own flat. The building is recorded in the Flemish architectural heritage inventory.
