Former house and studio of the architect Jan-Albert De Bondt, dating from 1929 according to the building application. An isolated villa on the corner of Vaderlandstraat, set in a garden, it is a brick building of two storeys under a flat roof, in an expressionist rather than strictly functionalist style that is De Bondt's own but influenced by Berlage and the Amsterdam School. The almost rectangular plan is enlivened by projecting polygonal bay windows and a pentagonal tower on the front, an expressionist expression of a certain kind of functionalism.
