Built in 1925 by the architect Oscar Van de Voorde, chief architect of the 1913 World's Fair, for the lawyer Robert Delmotte, Parc Résidence was the first high-rise building in Ghent; at 22.50 metres it well exceeded the permitted height. It stands on the corner of the Krijgslaan and overlooks the large pond of the Citadelpark. On a U-shaped plan, the reinforced-concrete frame building has brick and Euville stone cladding with Art Deco decorative panels, curved oriels at the corners and a central entrance in wrought iron and glass under a semicircular canopy. It has been protected as a monument since 1991.
